Mine has no dead pixel.

Yes, sounds like you have dead pixels. Return it within 2 weeks, or whatever your grace period is, to avoid restocking fees, otherwise you gotta call support for exchange.
Ok, thanks for the replies, i bought it in america (i live in england and im back in england now) would i be able to return it to a shop (pc world) in england?
(the screen isnt filled with dots, theres like 7 or 8, would it be eligible for exchange?)

I used to be a laptop repair tech, and I remember there used to be a specification on how many dots you needed to have before the screen could be replaced.
I do not know if this applies to iPods. My guess is it makes no difference since the screen is so small that every dot would be visible. Can you return it in UK? I don't know. Best bet, call Apple to find out.

The dots are more than likely dust under the screen. Apple took mine back and replaced it.
No, these are not bits of dust, it on the actual screen and its too big for bits of dust
Mine had 2 dead pixels (That is what the little white dots are on the screen). I bought my iPod from apple.com so when I called up they ssaid I could either send it in to them and they would send me a new one, or I could go to the Apple Store in SoHo (The Nearest one to me) and replace it. So I went to the store, and after a little trouble, they replaced my iPod with a brand new one, and they did not charge me the 10% restocking fee.
Where did you buy your iPod in the U.S.? At a Apple Store or another store, like a Best Buy, or Circuit City, Walmart?
If you bought it from someone else than a Apple Store, then call up the store you bought it from.

I bought it from an apple store in texas, so if i went up to the apple store in london they would exchange it?
As in the dust got on the screen in the manufacturing process.
The dust is actually bigger than the pixels on these screens. So when the pixel goes black the dust is still reflecting the light from the backlight. It is a problem that has been noticed alot with these higher density screens. The sony psp has had similar problems.
My first ipod video had tons of them, my new one has just a couple. You have to have the ipod very close to th eye displaying a black background to see them.

yes they would exchange it as long as you bought it from a real apple store, not a apple retailer. Try calling and then going to the apple store in London or do whatever tey tell you to do on the phone.
